Break down specific complex social skills (such as: taking turns, conversation, sharing, joining a group, working with others towards a common goal, understanding facial expressions, tone of voice, etc.) into smaller components and then teach those components systematically.
Family guidance is an important piece to helping our children grow and become independent. Parents and caregivers are an integral part of therapy. We educate parents on how to help teach and advocate for their children.
Functional communication training (FCT) is the process of teaching meaningful and functional communication in a natural way to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disorders. FCT may not necessarily mean learning words; instead, it means teaching a child with ASD to communicate in a suitable way. This may include gestures, sign language, or the use of pictures or icons, such as a picture exchange communication system (PECS).
We provide telehealth services as well as consulting with children in schools.
